OA-37B (Dragonfly)
Flown by the 103rd Tactical Airlift Support Squadron in Williow Grove, PA, the OA-37 was a forward air control version of the
OA-37 attack fighter. In addition to providing air control and combat escort, the Dragonfly was also used for reconnaissance as well as search and rescue of downed pilots and aircrew.
The Dragonfly's cockpit seated a pilot and one observer. It has all-weather flying instrumentation, air conditioning and a wing de-icing system. Armament included a 7.62mm minigun mounted in the nose section. Four pylons under each wing allowed the aircraft to cary a variety of ordnance for tactiacl missions or white phosphorus rocket pods and night illumination flare dispensers during forward air control missions.
