Scotland School for Veterans' Children
Since 1895, Scotland School for Veterans’ Children has been a co-educational residential school for students in grades three through twelve located in south central Pennsylvania in the village of Scotland. A scholarship was provided to students who meet eligibility requirements and are offered admission. Student must be the natural or adopted child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or sibling of an “eligible veteran.” An “eligible veteran” is defined as an individual who:
1. Served in the U.S. Armed Forces or the Pennsylvania Military Forces
2. Was honorably discharged from military service or
3. Is currently on active duty
It was closed by Governor Edward G. Rendell in 2009.
